Emma is a cartographer, painter, and illustrator based in Austin, Texas.
As a native Texan artist with a deep love for nature, Emma draws inspiration from the world around her to create hand drawn designs that tell meaningful stories. With a background in painting from Savannah College of Art & Design, she has grown her art practice through a range of mediums, including intricate inked maps, watercolors, illustration and large-scale painted murals.
Her primary medium is cartography, creating maps that tell stories, give direction and chart memories. In recent years, her maps have taken a nature focus with a range of subjects from bird migration flyways, state aquifers and springs, hiking trail maps and native species illustrations. Emma approaches her work as a cartographer, (very) amateur botanist and storyteller to create artwork that uplifts a landscape in hand drawn inked lines.
She is honored to have worked with a wide range of clients including Great Springs Project, The Contemporary Austin, Faherty, lululemon, Deep in the Heart and Wildsam Field Guides. In addition to her own artistic pursuits, Emma has successfully project managed and executed murals for local artist Emily Eisenhart (2019-2022) and The Contemporary Austin (Jenny Holzer in 2022 & Manik Raj Nakra in 2023).
Emma’s home and studio are rooted in Austin, where she is often found baking, gardening or hiking the greenbelt trails, enamored by the native plants and geology of her home state.
